Liz and Rick from Portland, Oregon
“What a beautiful, restful place. I rarely go on vacation and when my girlfriend suggested three days in a cabin in the mountains, I had no idea what to expect. From the moment of arrival I felt the calm, peace, and joy you’ve built up here. The wonderful surroundings, the warm fireplace and the grand search for seven mice made this weekend spectacular. I already feel so at home it will be strange to leave. Thank you very much and all the best to you, the Scotties, and all the folks who came after. Until next time!”
“Thanks for the wonderful cabin and the great breakfasts. Since we did not locate mouse #7, we’ll be back.”

Steve and Jeanne from Portland, Oregon
"Thanks to our hosts, we are leaving here well rested and well fed. It's a bit depressing to know the real world is just beyond the entrance gate. The special magic of the cabin keeps us coming back time after time. As Bob Hope said, "Thanks for the Memories". "

Darwin and Elta from Tupelo, Mississipp
Kennett and Natalie from Portland, Oregon
"This has been such a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas for us, thanks to you. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the cabin, the beautiful Oregon Landscape and all the special/loving touches you provided for us. Although we were so absorbed in our quiet and yet happy time togethere, we didn't finish searching for the mice. We thought it was such a neat and extra fun experience for anyone. We were so impress with the details of your tremendous work in setting up such a lovely home for your guest. The breakfast was outstanding. Mary Ann gave us a great perspective on your incredible building experience of the cabin, land, and the main house. I truly was moved by all your incredibly hard work. Felt like this was the closest I would come to meeting true pioneers. You have so much to be proud of in your venture of building this place. I am leaving here motivated. Thank you again for everything. Happy New Year, we hope to come out here again."

Doris, Barb, and Mike from Troutdale, Oregon

Jackie and David from Meridianville, Alabama
I think we found "Southern Hospitality" in Sandy, Oregon. You all have been such nice hosts and our stay has been one more adventure that we will look back on with good memories. Your little cottage and your gardens are such fun. I believe I could stay a week and discover something new every day. Thanks for all the tips on things to see and do. We missed a few things only because we ran out of time. I think that means we need to start planning a return visit. May you all have a delightful future here at Hidden Woods."
Jerry and Becky from Hoover, Alabama
"We have had such a wonderful time in your beautiful state and you have made it extra special. The accommodations and hospitality have been great. "All the positive coments on yur website clued us in to what a special place you have and what special people you are. We know that lots of hard work is behind making your guests feel comfortable, welcomed, and special too. So much thoughtfulness. There is so much to do here, or not do, as the mood strikes. We especially liked the hike to Romana Falls and Little Zigzag too. Your Scotties, Holly and Stuart are a delight to have around. Wishing you all a mildwinter, until we return, as surely we will."

Rick and Maureen from Portland, Oregon
“We are so very glad to be here once again. It’s been way to long since our last visit and hopefully it won’t be so long before our next visit. Life sometimes gets in the ways. The peace and serenity we feel when we are here is exactly what we needed. The natural beauty of this place is wonderful. The three of you work so hard to keep a beautiful and really do and amazing job of it. Your love for this place and your customers shows in everything you do. There is always something new in the garden. Not sure where you all find the time. It was great getting to finally meet Stuart, what a cutie and a handful and then there is Holly always waiting for her tummy rub. Mr. Toby Tobias was none too shy either, he certainly got his share of rubs this morning and the breakfasts absolutely delicious as always.”

Ray and Jeannie from Ellenton, Florida
"We had a wonderful time on our first anniversary trip at Hidden Woods. You folks obviously put a lot of energy and love into creating this place for people to visit. The cabin is perfect and your breakfast preparations are indeed a treat we've never experienced elsewhere. Again, your effort and love shows through every morning. We hope to come back soon and we’re looking forward to spending more time in the lovely Mt. Hood Area. From the scenic drive of the Columbia River Gorge, the magnificent waterfalls, our hike to the top of Tom, Dick and Harry and the seven hour hike on the Salmon River Trai,l we're exhausted. There is just so much to see and do here, we barely scratched the surface. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation, thank you so much. The only thing that would have made it better is more time."

You all do such an outstanding job of keeping the grounds so beautiful. Every time you turn around you see something new. The Teddy Bear Tea Party is just so precious. Peter says “don’t ever change a thing”, it’s just perfect. The stay here was the perfect way to end an enjoyable visit (first) to Oregon. From the coast to the South to the central to the Mt .Hood and Columbia Gorge area our visit to Oregon was amazing. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. The breakfasts were fabulous especially seeing the Stellar Jays and squirrels to entertain us. You truly have an amazing place and we thank you for sharing it with us. Peter and Jelena Odessa Florida.”

“Thank you so very much for sharing your cabin with us once again. We were so happy my mother could join us this time. Words and pictures just couldn’t begin to explain to her the splendor of this place. The boys enjoyed the forest with their airsoft guns. The hot tub was relaxing. We love all the puzzles and games. We brought a few to leave behind to share with future guests as well. On luxury that I let them do here but not at home was watching TV (haha). As usual the breakfasts were beyond my expectations. I enjoyed my bed upstairs again as well. Thank you so much for having us and letting us enjoy each other’s company. We will miss you until next time.”

All the wonderful creatures-just so cute.”

The cabin is an absolute delight and decorated in perfect form; exactly what we were hoping for. Cuddling on the red and black love seat in the front of a crackling fire is the best stress-reliever ever. Both the breakfasts and your hospitality are amazing. Also, we enjoyed wonderful massages in front of the fire by booking Jani. We leave with big smiles and great memories.

"To our new friends, What a privelege it was to be graced with your hospitality. You three are truly mastesr of your trade. As first timers, our expectations of a Bed & Breakfast were vastly exceeded; it seemed there was not a single element you failed to grace with your unique, compassionate, artistic touch. As hosts, you always made us feel welcomed in you beautiful paradise. Hunting for mice offered a brilliant distraction from the rain and the accessibilty of the amenities despite the weather make your operation stand head and shoulders above the competition. We will surely recommend friends and family and hope to come back soon ourselves."

I must say it exceeded our expectations. The grounds, the accommodations, and the hosts were absolutely amazing. The private cabin was extremely clean and great attention to detail on the décor. The gardens on the property are outstanding and so is the breakfast. We were looking for a piece of heaven, and we found it here .Having your own private Jacuzzi and fire pit was just another piece of heaven. We left Hidden woods with big smiles and feeling totally relaxed. We cannot wait to return and spend more time. Highly Recommended."

From the wonderful smells of the forest, the old fireplace, the fresh air to the sounds of the river, the birds, the wind blowing through the trees, everything is just right for relaxation and peace. The cabin, so old, but so well restored. You've made sure all the modern pleasures are here but the history and memories thrives. We loved sitting outside in the shade of the trees reading and talking and relaxing. The cleanliness, the décor, the art on the walls, the niceties, the conveniences. All just right.”

Graig and Tina from Mesa, Arizona

We truely appreciated all your recommendations. Everything exceeded our expectations, especially your wonderful breakfast."

Betty and Jerry from Salem, Oregon

“This is our 4th visit here and we love it more every time. Now that Steve and I have a child this time away from everything is so wonderful. Sleeping in, wonderful breakfasts, peace and tranquility are what we love the most. Looking forward to the day when our little girl is old enough to join us too. Have only found 6 mice. The last one is still elusive and driving me nuts. Ha Ha!”

Viki and Mitch from Forest Grove, Oregon
“Wow! Your attention to detail is unsurpassed. No stone is left unturned in your efforts to make a visit to Hidden Woods a pleasure beyond the imagination. To say we had a wonderful time is inadequate. Like Viki said over breakfast, “Is this a Dream”? We’ll be back.”

Steve and Jeanne from Portland, Oregon
Cathy and Kevin from Seattle, Washington
"Steve and I always have such a wonderful time visiting you and the cabin, so much so we share with our friends. This year we shared with Kevin and Cathy. Finally after 5 visits we found the, ever elusive, seventh mouse. Finding the last mouse was a group effort though. Steve found it first and wouldn't tell Cathy and I where it was, but we did find it in the end. Your breakfasts were great, we all agree that these are what we look forward to and visiting with you after we eat is such a treat. Thanks for letting us borrow the snow shoes, we wore ourselves out using them. A New Year Toast to our amazing hosts. We hope 2010 is a great year for all."

Joan and Laure from Portland, Oregon/Kirkland, Washington

To relish the log cabin in the woods

Lee and Gary from Maple Grove, Minnesota
"What a wonderful time we have had here. It truly feels like we are in a cozy cabin out in the woods someplace then to think we are only an hour from the airport. Your place, hidden, here in the woods is clearly is a work of art. Getting to know you and learn how you made it that way truly adds to the beauty. We have been blessed to find you."

Nicole and Dan from Hillsboro, Oregon
“We thoroughly enjoyed spending the weekend at this relaxing hideaway. You have made this place so welcoming and restful. We wish we could have spent more time here; we’ll just have to come back and visit again, soon. We love the rustic décor and the mouse themed items, the mouse hunt kept us entertained for hours. We were only able to find 6 of the 7 mice, but we’ll be back to try again. To top it all off your hospitality was so wonderful and the breakfast was delicious. Thank you so much for everything; we look forward to coming back again and will spread the work about this little sanctuary.”

Beth and Jim from Blacksburg, Virginia
“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in your cozy and well equipped cabin. This is our very first visit to Oregon (the 49th state we have visited) and we knew we wanted to spend enough time to see and do and enjoy the area rather thoroughly and this location has allowed that for us. Jim enjoyed 2 days of fishing with a guide on the Deschutes River-beautiful and we hiked and explored areas around Mt. Hood and at the falls along the Columbia River Gorge. We’ve experienced a variety of Oregon weather from quite hot and dry to rain with thunder and new snow atop Mt. Hood. We celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary with dinner at Timber line Lodge which was a special treat. Thanks for your good hospitality, good breakfast, and all your attention to details. The hot tub and the cozy fire in the fire place on the rainy cool evening were special treats.”

Sean and Stephani from Portland, Oregon
"Quiet and relaxing is what we needed. And this wonderful escape from the noise and city lights is what it gave us. Soothing hot tub and soft bed couldn't ask for more. Thank you so much for having us. Very beautiful and very relaxing."

Bill and Donna from Chino Hills, California

Scott, Stephanie, and Patrick from Franklin, Tennessee
“Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. It came recommended to Stephanie from a former Oregonian now living in Tennessee. We certainly have enjoyed our stay. The breakfasts were great and the scenery was outstanding. We will recommend you guys to anyone looking for a place with shouting distance of here. Best of luck in the future and God bless. We will try to take the “hot” weather back with us to Tennessee.”

Randy and Tamieka from Lebanon, Oregon
“We really enjoyed our stay here; Your warm hospitality is wonderful. We enjoyed getting to know you. Thank you so much to Gatlen and Martha for having us come here and watching our children. Searching for the mice will be a treasured memory. We finally found all seven. Can’t wait to come back and do more reading instead of searching for mice.”
John and Shawna w/ Charlee and Riley from Salem, Oregon
“I think my family can confirm that this past few days I myself have been the most relaxed in years. Who could ever be ready to go home from this place? Who doesn’t like being spoiled? The mouse hunt was so much fun John, Charlee, Riley, and myself found all of them and Coni confirmed it at our first breakfast.´

Brandi and Shari from Eau Claire, Michigan
“Our second time here and we still love it so much. We honeymooned here five years ago and just had to come back for our anniversary. Sadly, we only had time for one night. Everything is so charming and so much thought has been put into each detail. We’re
refreshed, relaxed, and content. What a wonderful place. We located each of the seven mice again. They are each so cute. My favorite is the mouse with the strawberries. We enjoyed the gourmet meal and enjoyed visiting with you again.”

John and Debra from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
“Enjoyed our stay very much. A very charming cabin with unique touches throughout. Breakfast was wonderful both mornings. Slept well with the sound of the Sandy River coming thru the windows. Thanks for all the info on area activities and suggestions. This entire community has so much to offer and now we’re out of time.”

Bill and Samantha from Portland, Oregon
“This was a wonderful getaway for us. We came seeking peace, quiet and beauty and found it here. The hosts were gracious including the Scotties and Toby. Toby even let me scratch him. The cabin is so nice and it shows that and extreme amount of care and passion go into the place. Thank you for everything. We found all seven mice a couple are tricky, but they are there.”

Cheryl and Roger from Litchfield, Connecticut
"We booked Hidden Woods for two days and extended to four just so we could complete the mission. Within minutes of leaving we found #7 mouse. OMG! Talk about an adventure. I believe we know this cabin better than our own house. We'll return next year for the porcelain bird/garden hunt. Plan on a full week for that one.
Hidden Woods isn't just a stop along the way but it's a destination for us. We feel so lucky to have come upon all of you in the Shangri-la. Hugs to our Scottie friends."

Tim and Erin from Carson City, Nevada
"We feel so blessed to have discovered this wonderful place. Your hospitality and love goes without saying. We loved visiting with you and sharing stories and look forward our next visit , wish this one could have been longer. Thank you for all you have done to make this such an amazing place, a magical place. Keep up the gardening and will look for the new additions. Brian and Sally from Vancouver, Washington
"Thank you for the wonderful two days. We loved everything, the cabin,
delicious breakfasts, luxurious linens, hot tub, but especially our friendly
hospitable hosts. The Rendezvous Restaurant was excellent. The garden
is beautiful; we could have watched the birds all day. We live in a very
urban area so the quiet was particularly welcome. Thank you for everything."

Laura and Mark from Portland, Oregon
“It was a dream come true for me to be able to spend my (our) 14th wedding anniversary with my husband in our “own” log cabin. It’s so peaceful here, far from the stresses of city life. I love all the cozy, cute decorations and rustic but comfy furnishings. Mark and I especially enjoyed walking in the gardens and relaxing in the hot tub. We left our white noise machine at home and instead drifted off to sleep to the sound or the river. The breakfast we had today was wonderful and provided ample fuel for our hike. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us. It has really blessed us.”

Chris and Cindy from Vancouver, Washington
"Thank you so much for helping us create a new memory that my
husband and I can talk about for years to come. His deployment
to Iraq has been a challenge and these two nights together were
well needed for us before he goes back to finish his tour.
We had big plans for romance the first night but spent hours
looking for the mice. It was really fun, though, and we laughed
and laughed together at how seriously we were taking our mission
to find all 7 mice and we did it. Your attention to detail in and out
of the cabin is nothing short of amazing. I do wish we could have
stayed longer, but the army and our children beckon us home.
We look forward to visiting after Chris comes back from Iraq.
He enjoyed fishing and I enjoyed watching him and will keep the vision
of him fishing (one of his passions) in my mind. Our breakfasts were a
feast for the eyes and our mouths. Yummy! We will spread the
word about your romantic paradise!”

Sandy and Richard from Cove, Oregon
"Thank you for a wonderful stay on the lush green side of the state. I thought I loved all the subtle tones of brown, but it was so refreshingly verdant here. The only missing things were my fly rods and waders. Don't know how I could have left them at home, other than the fact I neglected to notice the Sandy River on the map. Steelhead, I can feel your presence. Next time, tight lines"

Stephanie and Steve from Westminster, Colorado
"We can't thank you enough for such a wonderful
stay at
this remarkable place. You are so kind and
such wonderful hosts and could not have made us f
eel so welcome. We absolutely love this cabin and
your home too. We will be back, there's no doubt a
bout that. We wish you well and until next time, will
think of you and the "Hidden Woods" often with fond memories."

Kim and Roger from Forest Grove, Oregon
"I'm sure I've never stayed in a B&B that was run in such a complete fashion-you really have got it all figured out. You are warm and welcoming without being invasive: the cabin has all of the right comforts (perfect sheets, nice towels, books, games, a hot tub even I felt comfortable using, a fireplace with just the right amount of wood, on... and on...), but not so dolled up that there is no space left for you boarders! Your breakfasts alone are worth coming for-not only delicious, but your presentation and care actually brought tears to my eyes the first morning. Those of us used to being on the giving side can become inordinately touched when we find other going the extra mile for us. It felt great; I need more of this".

Maureen and Rick from Portland Oregon
"We find ourselves, once again, enjoying and relaxing in the little log
cabin at Hidden Woods. It didn't take but once to get me hooked.
I fell in love with this place and it's owners from the very first moment
2 years ago. The cabin is so comfy and warm, the host and hostesses
so delightful, the delicious breakfasts served so elegantly, the beautiful gardens.
I can't wait to return."
Brian, Marilyn, from Eugene, Oregon-Michael is from Tennessee
"Our weekend on Mt. Hood and Hidden Woods was exactly what I had hoped for to celebrate my brother's first visit to Oregon. Thank you for the spectacular breakfasts and warm generous hospitality."

Eileen, David and Reuben from Coventry, United Kingdom

“An Ode to Hidden Woods
How does one express when you’ve finally met the best?
When hospitality is a fine delicacy,
When land and sea and foam, is just like being home,
When morning’s anticipation becomes a savory inspiration,
When mice and bears and ferries become something more than merrier,
When the hearth’s crackling dance, evokes a storybook romance,
When all of nature’s finery is like your own seasonal winery, and when all of the above, comes wrapped in kindness and love? How does one say all of this and not get lost amidst the bliss?
You say thank you, thank you and thank you again, to Coni and Terry and Mary Ann.We had the best time. We love you and will definitely be back. Until next time. Take care and God Bless.”
